Japanese lacquer-ware is one of Japan’s most well known handicrafts. The sap from lacquer trees, which grow from India to Japan, is used for making a number of tableware items and other tools, and these items have become a mainstay of Japanese living. Because raw natural lacquer is difficult to handle and poisonous, synthetic lacquer is used to provide the same stunning result. In these courses, “kashoku” decoration is carried out on your chosen piece, either by applying colored lacquers directly in the “Iro-e tsuki” style or by sprinkling gold dust over patterns in the “Maki-e tsuki” style. Feel free to make your own original design in lacquer. 日本を代表する工芸品の一つである漆器。インド〜日本のアジア圏のみに植生する漆の樹液から作られる塗料を使った食器や道具類は、古くから日本の暮らしに根付いている。 天然の漆は職人以外が簡単に扱える素材ではないので、ここでは合成素材で本漆製と同等の使用性能を持つ小物作品創りが体験可能。 漆器に文様を施すことを「加飾」といい、文様をカラフルに描く「色絵付け」や金粉で文様を浮かび上がらせる「蒔絵付け」の技法で、オリジナルデザインの漆器ができる。 |
