Enjoy Japan’s four seasons in the palm of your hand.

In the world of Japanese sweets, Jogashi, or tea sweets, are considered to be the most beautiful of sweets. During the Edo period, such confections became an important part of the world of the Imperial family and were luxurious delicacies that depicted the four seasons and the Japanese aesthetic of pursuing the beauty of nature through art.

In this Kyoto shop, the art of making Jogashi has been refined and many visitors choose this shop not only for its beautiful sweets but also for its professional teachings.

IFrom a few simple ingredients, such as sweet soybean paste and glutinous rice, you can make a Turkish delight. Or using honey and Japanese chestnuts, you can make a mashed sweet potato dessert.

If you are up for it, you can also try your hand at shaping your sweet to depict mountain scenery or flower shapes.
