Experience the old workshop at Suzuki Shofudo as it has been for the last 115 years. In this traditional-style wooden shop, you can find a number of goods including paper airplanes, dolls, lanterns, and toys that have all been made using techniques handed down for generations. This shop also stresses the importance of using traditional, nature-friendly dyes (such as persimmon dye) and adhesives (such as seaweed glue). The shop itself is something to behold with its array of handmade paper tables, chairs, shelves, and walls. 創業115年の紙老舗「鈴木松風堂（Suzukishoufudo）」が開いた紙の体験工房。京町屋の工房では、紙製の飛行機、や人形、あんどんなどの雑貨や玩具を、京都伝承の技を教わりながら制作可能。また、ここでは天然染料の柿渋（kakishibu）や天然接着剤の布海苔（Funori）など、日本古来の自然素材を使い、環境にやさしいものづくりを重視している。 手作り雑貨はもちろん、工房内にある紙のテーブルや紙のイス、紙の棚、紙の壁などから紙の素晴らしさを再発見できるはず。 |
